Our Commitment to Quality
It's hard to find good video content on anomalous phenomena - what we often call the "paranormal" or the “supernatural”. Because YouTube incentivizes frequent uploads, most YouTubers do mostly surface-level research, and embellish the narrative without learning all the facts. Think Anomalous is raising the bar, both in terms of research and presentation. We make high-quality videos that are tightly structured and information-dense, guiding viewers to the strongest evidence for anomalous phenomena.
Quality takes time. Each video production requires a minimum of:
In total, that’s a minimum of 50 hours of work. I do most of it myself, in addition to working an unrelated full-time job. On top of this, I now hire:
I do all of this on top of working a full time job, so progress is slower than I’d like, and I’m forced to adopt a much slower release schedule than most YouTubers. While I make a profit on a small hand full of videos, most of my videos actually cost me money to make, and the channel on the whole is a net financial loss.

Contributions through Patreon or Paypal help relieve the financial burden on myself, and give me more money to grow the channel. With your help, I can hire out more of the research, and the more technical tasks like audio editing, video editing, and updating social media. This would free up more time for writing and recording scripts, and ultimately making more videos.
If you want to see better coverage of anomalous phenomena in the media, then please consider giving to Think Anomalous today.

Commission a Video
If you have a good idea for a video and want me to make it for you, I will do so for a one-time donation of $1000. The topic and scope of the video is subject to negotiation, and I make no guarantee that I will agree to your proposal. I will cover anything from UFO abductions to fairy sightings, but there must be publicly-available evidence of the event/ phenomena. In other words, I won't make a video on an experience that you had, or a friend of yours had, unless there is some other source to back it up. I will be much more likely to agree to a video topic if it's backed up by strong corroborating evidence, and if it illustrates an interesting pattern in anomalous phenomena.
Please email me at [email protected] to propose a video idea. Once we agree on a topic, you can send the money via PayPal, or mail a check. Unless you request to remain anonymous, you will be credited at the end of the video as the sole sponsor. And if I agree to it in advance of making the video, I will share a short blurb about you and/or you business/ channel along with the credit.

Quality takes time. Each video production requires a minimum of:
- 18 hours to research the topic (often much longer)
- 10 hours to write and edit the script
- 2 hours to record the narration
- 8 hours to edit the audio
- 12 hours to edit the video
In total, that’s a minimum of 50 hours of work. I do most of it myself, in addition to working an unrelated full-time job. On top of this, I now hire:
- An artist to make custom illustrations (~ $400 - 600/ video)
- A research assistant to read sources and draft scripts (~ $300/ video)
- A channel manager to perform a range of back-end tasks (~ $300/ month)
I do all of this on top of working a full time job, so progress is slower than I’d like, and I’m forced to adopt a much slower release schedule than most YouTubers. While I make a profit on a small hand full of videos, most of my videos actually cost me money to make, and the channel on the whole is a net financial loss.
